There are a few different kinds of hauntings, and a few different kinds of spirits, or ghosts, you can come across. If you
refer to different religions, they might break it down furhter, or into different categories, such as lost souls, damned,
unfinished business...or other religions categorize as spectres, Ghosts, and Apparitions. Anyways, here are the two basic
(there are alot more) types of grounds when it comes to the paranormal.
EERIE GROUNDS:
Eerie grounds usually do not have a history associated with them. These grounds CAN have activity, however, it is minimal.
These grounds will usually include feelings and sounds, but never sight. If you see something, the grounds are more than
likely haunted. Eerie grounds usually have the feeling of being watched, or feelings of uncomfort (sometimes, people are
uncomfortable on haunted grounds and leave before anything can happed, this is where you can easily get confused.). Eerie
grounds CAN be haunted! All the feelings of Eerieness go with hauntings. However, you can never know until full investigations
are done.
HAUNTED GROUNDS:
These grounds do have a history behind them. Usually someone untimely death, and most likely, suicide. They represent what
some religions call the "Wraith" or "Demon". (PLEASE dont email me what you think a wraith and demon
are. Like I said before, different beilief systems yield different meanings for each word.) These are the angry undead,
that is undisputed, the differance between them and a ghost, is that ghosts can only be seen, and felt through temperature.
They can not wield physical mass (flower pots, chairs, etc.) Ghosts however, can move through walls and doors. These angry
spirits are almost caught between worlds, so they can weild chairs, and any other object and throw them. Sometimes they are
just angry, and other times, they mean you harm (most are territorial). An advantage we have over these angry spirits is
that they are limited to movement just as we are, doors, walls and windows can stop them from moving further. However, if
they need to, they will find a way around the object blocking their path, depending on how much you have, for lack of a better
words, pissed them off. Haunting Sites include sounds, feelings (not only feelings of dread and being watched, but feeling
someone grab you, touch you, etc). They also usually include a weird site (such as an apparition, or a physical depiction
of the ghost being encountered.) These are what Haunting Sites are.
